COVID-19 Update – 5 May – Role for agents on Self Employment Income Support Scheme

HMRC have stated that agents will not be able to make claims under the SEISS on behalf of clients.  Inclusion of this facility would have delayed the delivery of the service. However, anyone can access the eligibility checker if they have the Unique Taxpayer Reference and the NI number. If the checker suggests that you are not eligible and you believe this to be incorrect, Wright Vigar, as your agent, can consider the facts and if necessary ask for a review on your behalf. HMRC will be providing calculations to the self-employed of the payments made so you can ask us as your agent to review these to ensure they are correct.
