High earners may need to submit 2021/22 tax returns
17th Sep 2024
HM Revenue and Customs are writing to taxpayers whose income exceeded £200,000 in 2021/22, asking them to check if they should have submitted a tax return for that year.
The individual should consider whether a return was required for the period, and if so, a return should be submitted by 29 September 2024. If they assess the situation and determine no return was in fact required, they should contact HM Revenue and Customs, once again by 29 September, to discuss this with them.
