COVID-19 Update – 30 November - Publishing CJRS claim detail - Wright Vigar
 In Advice, Blog, News

Employers who claim CJRS for periods starting on or after 1 December 2020 need to be aware HMRC will publish information about these claims as part of their commitment to transparency and to deter fraudulent claims.

HMRC will be publishing the following information:

  • Employer name
  • An indication of the value of the claim (Further detail on how this will work will be available from late November)
  • The company number for companies and LLPs

In addition, HMRC has stated they will also be improving the information available to furloughed employees by including details of claims made for them in their Personal Tax Account on GOV.UK

If you are an employer and think that a serious risk of violence or intimidation will come from publicising your name, company registration number and amount of claim, you will need to contact HMRC and provide evidence of why you believe this. Evidence can include:

  • a police incident number if you’ve been threatened or attacked
  • documentary evidence of a threat or attack, such as photos or recordings
  • evidence of possible disruption or targeting
