Carolyn Cunningham, Wright Vigar’s Senior Payroll Manager, brings over three decades of expertise to the table. Starting her payroll career in 1991, Carolyn has embraced her role with an enthusiasm that’s nothing short of infectious. She proudly calls herself a “payroll nerd,” a title she wears with honour. Her passion for payroll is evident in her dedication to keeping her team abreast of the latest legislation and ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients.
Carolyn's extensive experience across multiple industry sectors gives her a unique perspective on the challenges faced by clients. She is well-equipped to navigate these challenges, being CIPP and AAT qualified, as well as certified in XERO and QuickBooks. Carolyn's skills are invaluable when assisting clients with their own payroll processing, a task she finds particularly rewarding. She is committed to ensuring accurate and timely payroll for both her clients and those she supports in-house, underscoring her passion for her work.
Much of Carolyn’s time is devoted to helping companies understand and correctly use their payroll software. She specialises in troubleshooting issues, explaining why problems occurred, and guiding clients to prevent future mistakes. Carolyn’s mission is to demystify payroll processing, a task she undertakes through both one-on-one consultations and in-depth seminars. Her areas of expertise include auto-enrolment, holiday pay, and payrolling benefits, among other key payroll processes.
Understanding that the modern workplace can be stressful enough without the added worry of pension regulations or HMRC returns, Carolyn’s ethos is to get it right from the start. She aims to alleviate the burden of payroll management, allowing clients to focus on their core business activities.
Interests
Outside the office, Carolyn channels her organisational skills and passion into planning and delivering wine tasting evenings for her local community. These popular events feature wines from old-world countries like France, Spain, and Italy, paired with those from new-world regions such as New Zealand, Australia, and the USA. Each evening is themed around the old-world country and includes carefully selected food pairings, making these events a delightful blend of education and enjoyment. Carolyn’s wine tasting evenings are a testament to her commitment to excellence and community engagement, much like her professional approach to payroll management.
