COVID-19 update – 28 October - Parents on JSS or SEISS to remain eligible for childcare support - Wright Vigar
 In Advice, Blog, News

The government has confirmed that parents whose salary is being partially paid by the government support schemes will continue to be eligible for 30 hours free and tax-free childcare support. This is also the case for those whose income falls below the minimum threshold requirement.

The minimum income threshold to access these schemes is usually equal to 16 hours per week at the national minimum wage.

From 1 November, eligible working parents who receive support through the new Job Support Scheme (JSS) and extended Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) will continue to receive their childcare entitlements even if their income levels fall below the threshold temporarily while on these schemes.
