The National Living Wage becomes law, with any workers aged 25 or over being legally entitled to earn at least £7.20 per hour. Reporting PAYE to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) becomes more timely, and employers are being encouraged to make payments to HMRC using on-line and telephone systems rather than payment booklets. Sweeping changes to how the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is reported to HMRC becomes effective from 6 April 2016 with HMRC’s CIS online service becoming crucial to submitting returns. Other changes also include employees living in Scotland, student loans and voluntary payrolling of benefits. To find out more please click here to read our comprehensive flyer.
